What is the grace period for Cleco? ›

Cleco says customers are given a 20-day grace period from the billing date to make their payment. After the 20-day grace period, a late fee is assessed, and electric service is subject to disconnect.

Authorized Payment Center

Please allow one to two business days for processing. If a customer's account is delinquent, and a payment is made at an authorized payment center, the customer should call Cleco customer service at 1-800-622-6537 to report the payment.

You will be billed a reconnect fee, and you may be billed an additional deposit if the deposit on your account is not sufficient to cover the highest bill. The reconnect fee during regular working hours is $15 and it's $30 after hours (any time after 4:30 p.m.).

A payment made after the due date but before the end of the grace period does not trigger a late penalty charge. For instance, if your mortgage payment is due the seventh of each month, payments received on or before the 22^nd of the month would fall within the grace period and avoid a late fee.

A grace period is also typically included in mortgage and insurance contracts. During this period no late fees will be charged, and the delay will not result in default or cancellation of the loan or contract. In practice, the exact time will be noted in the contract if the loan or agreement has a grace period.

Pay Bills with a Money Order

Money orders can almost always be used in place of a personal check, and because of this, they're great for people without bank accounts. The funds on a money order are guaranteed.

Gather your bills, including account numbers and the addresses to where you mail the payments. Enter each biller's information into your bank's online bill pay platform, or choose them from a list provided by your bank. Choose when to send the payment. Select a recurring or one-time payment.
