IDK if it's considered rly inappropriate/impolite in Japan but i guess asking a 'normal' girl to show off their tongue would come off as creepy/perverted. Versus giving them like those diff colored popsicles and ppl playing around and showing each other (it not the main/first girl calling everyone else out and being like "Kyou knows about the existence of love eaters, btw" [lol i just realized his last name is "Tasty"])

I wonder if the kiss will end up 'not working' /if he has to 'declare' it/confess as opposed to her initiating the kiss

So basically there is no reason for all of this and everything could be resolved in 30 seconds, max 15 mins (trip to store included) with method you provided. So author is just milking plot based on the assumption that readers won't ask any questions and will just turn their brains off, while reading the story.
And I'm fine with that, honestly. But it has to be done properly and here it just isn't - IMHO.

Yeah. The tone that the author chose is everyone is a schemer or overthinking people (which is not). Going by this action would definitely filtering a lot of them to panic or give up right away even if it's not happening ideally. The normal girl would definitely get weirded out of course but the risk is not worth it. Just explain the situation and it would get simpler later.

But author chose this. It can be good if the author doing the mc the right persona but the author chose the harder personality to corporate it with. It feels wishy-washy even though as of now the plot is still very good

It would be a little weird but other than buying them ice cream or a nurse examining them I’d think some teens do stick their tongues out at each other in the team rocket style way (there’s even a word in Jp for it like akkanbeda or so? But it’s not like he’d be asking them to do an “ahegao” face lol)

But like that other girl I’m sure there’d be others who’d take measures to hide their tongue unless their are other sides bc I’m sure split tongues can be a thing irl or something similar like ppl having longer tongues than others , tho who knows maybe some ppl who had their emotions eaten are thriving as adults now rather than being depressed shut in neets
